The NBA has fined Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown $50,000 for public criticism of sport officers following Boston’s first-round exit from the playoffs.
The high quality was introduced by NBA Govt Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations James Jones on Tuesday evening, two days after Brown mentioned in a livestream he hosts that sport officers “clearly had an agenda” to name fouls towards him for “pushing off” when he drove towards the basket whereas dealing with the ball.
“There are some referees that have to be investigated,” Brown mentioned on the livestream on Sunday, a day after the Celtics’ 109-100 loss to Philadelphia 76ers in Sport 7 of their first-round playoff sequence.
“Each good basketball participant does this. What are y’all speaking about? They clearly had an agenda,” Brown mentioned.
Brown was beforehand fined $35,000 in January after a two-minute postgame rant concerning the officiating following Boston’s loss to San Antonio.
