Pakistan was fined 20 per cent of its match charge for sustaining a gradual over-rate towards Sri Lanka within the first ODI in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The sanction was imposed by Ali Naqvi of the Emirates ICC Panel of Match Referees after the Shaheen Afridi-led aspect was dominated to be 4 overs wanting the goal after time allowances have been considered.
In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Gamers and Participant Help Personnel, which pertains to minimal over-rate offences, gamers are fined 5 per cent of their match charge for each over their aspect fails to bowl within the allotted time.
Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no want for a proper listening to.
The host leads the three-match collection 1-0 after beating the Lankans by six runs within the opener.
