The Wuhan Open returns to the WTA calendar in October.

The WTA 1000 match, final staged in 2019, is again on the WTA calendar set for October 7-Thirteenth, 2024.
Aryna Sabalenka is two-time reigning Wuhan champion. Sabalenka stopped American Alison Riske 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 within the 2019 Wuhan Open remaining for her second straight championship within the Chinese language metropolis.
The match was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic then the WTA pulled out of China in protest of the Peng Shuai abuse allegations and her subsequent disappearance.
