Poland’s Iga Swiatek will play within the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Malaga in November when it faces host Spain within the opening match, the world quantity two stated on Tuesday
Swiatek has not performed since her U.S. Open quarterfinal defeat by Jessica Pegula in September. After deciding to overlook the WTA tour’s Asian swing as a result of fatigue, the 23-year-old misplaced her primary place to Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka.
“See you in Malaga! I’m blissful to announce that I’ll play within the BJKC Finals,” Swiatek posted on social media.
“I’m glad that I’ll play for my nation and proudly signify Poland. Along with staff Poland we are going to give our greatest on the courtroom.”
Swiatek parted methods with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski earlier this month and has since added Wim Fissette to her staff. She will even participate in November’s WTA Finals in Riyadh, giving her an opportunity to reclaim the highest spot on this planet rankings.
