Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday introduced former South Africa worldwide Gary Kirsten as the top coach of its males’s group.

Kirsten will take over from April 15 on a two-year contract, changing Sanath Jayasuriya, who had introduced his exit after Sri Lanka’s Tremendous Eight exit within the T20 World Cup.

The 58-year-old final labored as a marketing consultant with Namibia for the T20 World Cup. Kirsten’s most profitable stints as coach stay with India and South Africa. Throughout his stint in India, he guided the group to an ODI World Cup title earlier than getting the Proteas to the highest of rankings in all three codecs.
