Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner will lead Gujarat Giants within the upcoming version of the Girls’s Premier League, the franchise introduced on Monday.
The 28-year-old has performed 25 matches for the WPL franchise, scoring 567 runs, together with 5 fifties, at a strike charge of 141.75 over three seasons. She was one of many two gamers — the opposite being Beth Mooney for Rs. 2.5 Cr. — retained by the Giants previous to the WPL 2026 Public sale for Rs. 3.5 Cr.
“Expertise in her stride. Perception in her voice. Ash Gardner steps up as soon as extra as our CAPTAIN, primed to take us to glory,” the Giants introduced on social media.
Gardner, a three-time T20 Girls’s World Cup winner, has been with the Giants for the reason that league’s inception in 2023 and helped the crew end third within the earlier version, shedding to eventual champion Mumbai Indians by 47 runs.
The fourth version of WPL might be performed throughout two legs, in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara, with the opening match set to be performed on the D. Y. Patil Stadium.
The Giants will open their marketing campaign towards UP Warriorz in Navi Mumbai on January 10.
