Gujarat Titans has roped in Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka to switch New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips, who has been dominated out for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season because of damage, the 2022 champion confirmed.
Phillips sustained a groin damage whereas fielding in its place in Gujarat’s seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this month and has since returned house.
Shanaka, who was a part of the Gujarat squad in 2023 and performed three matches for it, will be part of the crew for Rs 75 lakhs.
Gujarat Titans is at present second within the IPL standings with eight factors from six matches, and can face table-topper Delhi Capitals on Saturday.
