Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy has been appointed the nation’s senior males’s workforce head coach throughout all codecs, the archipelago’s cricketing physique mentioned on Monday.
Sammy was already the T20I and ODI head coach. He’ll take over the Check workforce from Andre Coley. Each have been introduced as coaches of the respective sides in 2023.
The 40-year-old will take over the reins from April 1, 2025.
The information was introduced by Miles Bascombe, Cricket West Indies (CWI) Director of Cricket, on the Quarterly Press Convention in St Vincent.
“It’s an honour to symbolize the West Indies in any capability,” Sammy mentioned, including that he’s up for the problem to assist the Check workforce. West Indies is at the moment languishing in final place on the World Check Championship 2023-25 factors desk.
Sammy led West Indies to 2 T20 World Cup titles (2012 and 2016). For the nation, he has performed 38 Assessments, 126 ODIs, and 68 T20Is.
