ZIM vs AFG, 1st T20I: Zimbabwe secures last-ball win over Afghanistan

Zimbabwe secured victory off the final ball because it beat Afghanistan by 4 wickets within the first of the three-match T20 sequence on the Harare Sports activities Membership on Wednesday.

Tashinga Musekiwa scored the 11 runs off the final over for residence success as Zimbabwe reached its goal of 145 after dropping six wickets.

A 75-run partnership between Brian Bennett, who scored 49, and Dion Myers, who contributed 32, laid the inspiration for the house win.

Naveen-ul-Haq shone with the ball for the customer selecting up three wickets whereas skipper Rashid Khan bought two.

Afghanistan, which received the toss and selected to bat, scored 144 for six after Karim Janat and Mohammed Nabi put collectively a 79-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Janat was 54 not out whereas Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava took three for 28 in his 4 overs.

The second match of the sequence is in Harare on Friday.
