The Worldwide Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday banned Sri Lankan participant Praveen Jayawickrama from all types of cricket for one yr after he admitted breaching the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code.
The 26-year-old left-arm spinner admitted to breaching ICC’s code Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing or delaying any investigation that could be carried out by the ACU, together with concealing, tampering with or destroying any documentation or different info that could be related to that investigation and/or that could be proof or might result in the invention of proof of corrupt conduct beneath the Anti-Corruption Code.
As per the ICC launch, the fees are associated to worldwide cricket and the Lanka Premier League. The ICC, in settlement with Sri Lanka Cricket, acted in accordance with Articles 1.7.4.1 and 1.8.1 of the Code.
