Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik have claimed that the Delhi Police has revoked the safety cowl of feminine wrestlers set to testify within the sexual harassment case towards former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Vinesh and Sakshi on ‘X’, tagged the Delhi Police, the Delhi Fee for Ladies, and the Nationwide Fee for Ladies, elevating issues in regards to the security of the ladies wrestlers who’re key witnesses within the case and wrote, “Delhi Police has withdrawn the safety of the ladies wrestlers who’re going to testify towards Brij Bhushan within the courtroom.”

Vinesh, who just lately returned from the Paris Olympics, had mentioned that her struggle towards the WFI would proceed and hoped that “fact will prevail”.
The case dates again to January 2023 when wrestlers together with Vinesh, Sakshi and Bajrang Punia started protesting at Jantar Mantar, accusing Brij Bhushan of sexual exploitation and intimidation. The wrestlers demanded his resignation and sought the dissolution of the WFI.
Their criticism to Indian Olympic Affiliation (IOA) president PT Usha led to the formation of an inquiry committee comprising notable figures corresponding to Mary Kom and Yogeshwar Dutt. Regardless of these actions, the WFI denied all allegations towards its president and coaches.
Subsequently, the Sports activities Ministry intervened, suspending all WFI actions and sidelining assistant secretary Vinod Tomar.
The authorized battle escalated in Might 2024, when a Delhi courtroom formally framed expenses towards Brij Bhushan and Vinod Tomar. Each denied the fees, resulting in a trial.
