England will likely be with out opening batter Zak Crawley for its three-match check collection towards Sri Lanka after he fractured his proper little finger, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stated on Sunday as they introduced their 14-member squad.
Crawley, 26, picked up the issue throughout England’s third check win over the West Indies final month. Seamer Dillon Pennington may even be out with a hamstring harm.
Center-order batter Jordan Cox has acquired a primary call-up to the check squad. The 23-year-old had beforehand toured Pakistan with the white-ball squad in 2022.
Seamer Olly Stone may even return to the check squad for the primary time since June 2021.
Captained by Ben Stokes, England will host Sri Lanka at Previous Trafford for the primary check beginning August 21.
