— And the NCAA’s Nationwide Collegiate Seashore Volleyball Championship begins Friday in Gulf Shores, Alabama, as top-seeded USC goes for its fourth title in a row.

San Diego, which has gained 4 of six and 6 of its final 9 matches, beat Orlando 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-11.

The subsequent match is Wednesday when Orlando goes to Vegas. Columbus is at Atlanta on Thursday.

Every group performs 24 matches. The Vibe, who’ve clinched the highest playoff spot, have two matches left. Omaha has 4, Grand Rapids 4, San Diego 5, Columbus nonetheless has seven to play, Orlando three and Vegas 4.

In San Diego’s victory, Willow Johnson led with 17 kills, 9 digs and 5 blocks, three solo. Ronika Stone, her former Oregon teammate, added 13 kills and had two assists, seven digs and three blocks, one solo. Shara Marie Venegas Medina had 15 digs and 7 assists. San Diego has gained 5 five-set matches, most within the PVF.

Orlando obtained 13 kills every from Adora Anae and Shainah Joseph and 11 from Kaz Brown, who had three digs, two aces, and 6 blocks, three solo. Setter Carly Graham had 43 assists, 14 digs, two kills and two blocks, one solo.
