Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Saturday reprehended the followers booing Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya, saying it’s not the fault of the participant if he has changed much-loved Rohit Sharma, who shepherded the group in earlier seasons.
Pandya has been on the receiving finish of the followers’ anger ever since Mumbai Indians introduced that he’ll captain the five-time champion.
The India all-rounder was booed within the first sport that he performed as MI skipper upon his return on the house floor of his earlier franchise Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
The pattern continued when Pandya went to Hyderabad to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad and far to the shock of many, the 29-year-old was booed when Mumbai Indians performed its first house match of the season in opposition to Rajasthan Royals.
“I don’t assume they need to boo Hardik Pandya. It’s not appropriate,” Ganguly instructed the media right here throughout Delhi Capitals’ coaching session on the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
“It’s not appropriate. The franchisee has appointed him as captain. That’s what occurs in sport. Whether or not you captain India otherwise you captain a state or whether or not you captain your franchise, you might be appointed as captain.
