TAMPA — Mick Haley, the 2000 USA Olympic coach who gained 10 nationwide titles as a university volleyball coach, has settled his lawsuit with USC, the varsity that fired him in 2017.
Haley’s lawyer, Christopher L. Ludmer, launched the next assertion Thursday:
“The College of Southern California and former USC Ladies’s Volleyball Head Coach Mick Haley announce that they’ve amicably settled their arbitration on mutually agreeable phrases. USC and Mick Haley each want one another effectively and continued success. Mick Haley’s contributions to USC Athletics and to the game of ladies’s volleyball are described right here: https://usctrojans.com/sports activities/womensvolleyball/roster/coaches/mickhaley/95.”
Haley, in Tampa for the NCAA Division I Ladies’s Volleyball Championship and AVCA Conference, informed VolleyballMag.com, “I’m actually glad that is over with. It’s only one factor that permits me to maneuver ahead. I’m glad we had been ready to do that and now I can consider all of the issues that I began on after I left USC. It takes a weight off and I can transfer ahead.”
Haley, 80, gained six nationwide NJCAA titles at Kellogg Group Faculty, two teaching the ladies’s group and 4 with the boys.
He then gained two titles at Texas, together with the final AIAW championship in 1981 after which the 1988 NCAA title. At USC, the place he coached from 2001-20017, his groups gained all of it in 2002 and 2003, when his group completed 35-0.
Haley stays the winningest coach in USC historical past with a file of 435-119, together with 239-83 within the Pac-12.
As USC famous, “In his ultimate season (2017) as head coach of the Ladies of Troy, Haley guided a group that began the season unranked and chosen to complete sixth within the Pac-12 to an NCAA regional ultimate look—inside a degree of the nationwide semifinals—and a tie for second place within the ultimate convention standings.
