Root was picked for his base worth of Rs. 1 crore on the 2023 IPL public sale and performed three matches for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 10 runs and bowling two overs with out choosing a wicket.
“Throughout our retention conversations, Joe knowledgeable us of his choice to not participate in IPL 2024. Even in a brief span of time, Joe was in a position to create such a optimistic influence on the franchise and the gamers round him. His power across the group and the expertise he dropped at the Royals will probably be missed. We respect his choice completely and want him success in every part he does,” Kumar Sangakkara, Royals’ Director of Cricket, stated.
