The U.S. Males’s Nationwide volleyball crew, sparked by the play of reverse Matt Anderson and setter Micah Christenson, swept Canada on Sunday in Charleston, West Virginia, to win the NORCECA Continental championship for the primary time since 2017.
Workforce USA received the ultimate 25-20, 25-14, 25-22 and completed the match with a 5-0 report. Canada took the silver medal, and Cuba received bronze with a sweep of the Dominican Republic.
Christenson was named the match’s most dear participant, libero Erik Shoji was named finest receiver, and Anderson had 16 factors on 12 assaults, hit .588 and added two blocks and two aces within the title match.
As a crew, the U.S. had benefits in assaults (44-31) and blocks (5-3) and scored 23 factors on Canada’s errors.
The U.S., Canada, Cuba and fifth-place Mexico would be the 4 groups from NORCECA competing within the Volleyball Olympic Qualifying Event from September 30 to October 8.
