Caty McNally, a runner-up in ladies’s doubles on the final two US Opens, withdrew from the event on Friday due to an elbow damage.

Roberto Bautista Agut additionally pulled out, the event introduced.

McNally, from Cincinnati, missed her hometown Western & Southern Open this week due to her damage. She misplaced within the ladies’s doubles title match in Flushing Meadows in 2021 with Coco Gauff, then final 12 months with Taylor Townsend.

Her withdrawal moved fellow American Madison Brengle into the primary draw and left Townsend as the primary participant out.

Yosuke Watanuki of Japan took Bautista Agut’s spot in the primary draw, which begins August 28.
