Chris Evert will obtain the Serving Up Goals Award on the primary day of this 12 months’s US Open for her efforts to assist the US Tennis Affiliation’s charitable arm.
The USTA Basis introduced on Wednesday that Evert will probably be honored at its gala on August 28 in New York.
Evert, who gained six of her 18 Grand Slam singles titles on the US Open, has been the chairperson of the inspiration’s board since 2019.
She first labored with the inspiration in 2016 to arrange a scholarship fund in reminiscence of her late father, Jimmy Evert, a tennis coach.
Chris was inducted into the Worldwide Tennis Corridor of Fame in 1995. She now works as a TV analyst.
“She’s not only a legend on the court docket; she’s a pressure of nature in altering lives,” USTA Basis Board president Kathleen Wu stated.
